Afton Motorsports Park Race Report
Mother Nature Claims Win Number Two Friday Night at Afton Motorsports Park
Afton Motorsports Park recap for June 23, 2017
Afton, NY— The racing action at the Afton Motorsports Park was cancelled on Friday night due to a strong line of heavy thunderstorms, which were caused by humid conditions. All of these weather factors when added up made the decision to cancel an easy one for track co-promoters Ron Ford and Leon Andrus.
"When you only are limited to how many races you can have it is tough to lose a show" stated Ron late Friday afternoon. "We have had a solid season to date and we were coming off an excellent Afton Action 50 two days earlier. I hated to make the call to cancel but I was a racer too and that is the worst thing spending money hauling to the track on a very shaky weather day and then get rained out without racing."
